Welcome to the unofficial home page of the

Wildwood Canadian Campground

I have recently been informed that the Wildwood Canadian Campground is CLOSED.

I am not affiliated with the campground.
This page exists because I really enjoyed my stay there.
The Wildwood Canadian Campground is located in Rio Grande, New Jersey. This is the closest campground to Wildwood, just two and a half miles from the Boardwalk, and about 3 miles from Cape May. This is also the only campground that has 110 acres of land!

Why Wildwood "Canadian" Campground?
As a child, the owner often visited Canada, where he met many nice people. He decided that he would like to offer Canadians a place where they could feel welcome.

They are open from May 1st until October 1st. Things really start picking up around July 4th weekend, so call in advance to reserve a site. The staff is extremely friendly, and prices are very reasonable. They are equiped to handle campers, pop-up trailers and tents. They claim to be the only campground in the area with all the grass - when you camp there, you will be camping on grass - it's the manager's nightmare to keep it cut, but campers love it.

  • Here's a picture of my site when I stayed there (North Woods site J).
I thought it was ironic that I had the smallest vehicle, the smallest tent, but the largest site!

Keep in mind that I was there before July 4th weekend, so I had the pick of the litter!

All in all I had a great stay. I was originally headed for Virginia Beach, but I never made it. Ray, the manager, was very friendly (he didn't mind me hanging around all the time), and I was having so much fun that I decided to stay in Wildwood.

Thanks for all your hospitality, Ray!
